Three months..... Four months....Thanksgiving and more!

Time is just flying by, we have all been so busy! Arwyn is LOVING school! She's doing very well with her alphabet and has a genuine interest in learning to read! Very exciting times! Adeline started her third month off with a trip to Oregon to visit Daddy at work! It was so beautiful, we loved it all that was missing was our Arwyn! It was such a fun time, and Adeline did just great on her first flight! Halloween has always been a favorite for us, but this year Arywn was sick. So she dressed up the day after and sweet relatives let us come trick or treat! Adeline is trying to catch up to big sister. She has been scooting, wiggling and the occasional roll. Also she has started having conversations with family members, or friends, who ever will talk. She coo's and grunts and waits for you to speak and then coo's and grunts more. She is sitting by her self starting at almost 4 months (if sat up). Also, at the end of three months Adeline started trying to steal my lunch! So the Doctor suggested starting her on solids, and she LOVES it. She thinks it is just grand, her favorite is apples, but she also loves peas, and she's not sure about carrots. And she now tries even harder to take my dinner! Adeline has got the most loving tutor, and mentor, Arwyn! Arwyn loves being a big sister, and with her sweetheart I couldn't imagine anyone more fit for the job! Arwyn has been encouraging to Addie, helping her sit and teaching her how to use her toys. Its so adorable, when Arwyn and I are doing a learning lesson or homework and I have Addie in my lap, she will stop and go get Addie a toy to play with. It makes a Mommy proud! We did even more traveling at the start Adeline's fourth month. We drove to Paris to see family, and thoroughly enjoyed it! After a two day visit there we headed on to Nashville, TN. Pepaw and Grandma drove for us, it was a 10 hour drive and it turned out to be a wonderful family car trip. Arwyn was such a trooper! Then to see Aunt Sarah, Uncle Raphael, and Cousin Jonathon!! We had a truly delightful Thanksgiving, Sarah and Raphael planned, organized and cooked a magnificent feast for us in their brand new kitchen! Then the following weekend the See family flew in to Houston. More loving and visiting, we all had such a great time! Arwyn LOVED being the older cousin and of course being big Sister! She called Jonathon her baby, just as she calls Addie her baby! She even helped her cousin take some steps. Arwyn would walk through with Jonathon following, scooting, Addie just sitting watching. I am so proud, Arwyn spent most of her time helping Jonathon and Addie. Arwyn and Adeline both loved spending time with all the family! Christmas is coming soon, so Arwyn's school had a Christmas program. She practiced hard for 2 weeks, and it was wonderful! Her class sang four songs, and then did three more with the younger classes. It was so cute! She loves to sing, and I might be a bit biased but she's great at it! She's also super excited to celebrate Jesus' Birthday coming up, its so cute she wishes everyone Merry Christmas! We all are excited for Christmas, and of course it means more family time, and family is just so precious!

2 months already :) and school days for big Sister

Days do seem to fly by, Arwyn started pre-k this month and Adeline just had her 2 month checkup, busy days. We enrolled Arwyn at St. Dunstans Episcopal, its a great program, Mom and Arwyn are both happy about it! Arwyn is thrilled to be in school and she likes her teacher and new friends very much! She is starting pre-writing and have been learning classroom behavior, very important! And we have our first field trip on the 30th, and Mommy gets to come along :) fun days!

Arwyn and her classmates both think Adeline is really neat. Its so cute to see all the little boys and girls come over and stare into Addie's car seat. They are all so curious and amazed at her size, and they think she's too cute which makes Arwyn so proud of "her baby."

Adeline is doing great, growing steadily, she weighed in at 11 lbs. and 4 oz, 22" long. Shes a cubby happy girl! I am proud of her progress developmentally, she is scooting a bit already (too soon for me!) She is pushing herself up from squating positions to standing; standing has become favorite of hers. Also, she has learned exactly where her mouth is, and she take hold of your hand and guide it right in her little mouth! One thing is for sure she like to eat! I have to work at it to get her to wait 3 hours between feedings, if she had her way she would munch all day long.

We have been getting social smiles, especially for Daddy. Daddy can call and she will smile when she hears him talk to her!

With school starting and life happening as it does, we have all been busy, and busy leads to tired. But that's ok with this Mommy, it just means more cuddle time with my girls! Life is good.

Blogging? really? couldn't they find a better word?

Well, here goes, Im blogging. I created this, and promptly did nothing with it, so if I am going to keep up with my family and share moments, I should get started. I was reminded after viewing my Sisters blog page for the hundreth time, and enjoying it as I always do. So here I am, blogging away.

We had our new arrival a month ago, sorry for the delay. Friday, July 23rd was supposed to be my due date, but Monday the 19th the contractions started, and by 3:30am Tuesday morning, we were on our way to the hospital! At 7:35am July 20th, we were holding a healthy, beautiful baby girl! 6 lbs, 5 oz. 21" long, brown hair and hazel green eyes and very alert! Please welcome Adeline Grace Porter.

We came home from the hospital the next day to a very excited big sister! Arwyn has lovingly accepted her role as big sister, she calls Adeline, "my baby!" Having two beautiful girls is twice the joy! Arwyn came straight in to my bedroom the following morning, and immeadiatly asked, "Momma, did she grow yet?"

Adeline has been growing steadily, she is strong, and was holding her head up from the first day. She is a good eater, and producer. By her two week follow up appointment she was up to 7 lbs, 10 oz. and 21" long. And because of her great job growing, the doctor said to try letting her sleeping through the night. I am proud to say she is sleeping atleast 4-6 hours each night (happy Momma, sleep is good)!

We are at just over a month, progressing beautifully, she is already learning to roll on her side! We have had lots of love from our wonderful family, we are truly blessed. Adeline has had many visitors, and spent lots of time meeting her relatives! We are heading for our next check up this coming week, more updates to come.
